Manama:Exhibition World Bahrain: Dr. Khalid Al Mutawah, Deputy Chief Executive for Operations and Governance at the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), participated in a panel discussion on social housing governance during the Innovation in Social Housing Conference and Exhibition 2026. The event, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Eskan Bank in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, took place as part of the fourth Gulf Housing Week.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Mutawah emphasized the iGA's commitment to adopting modern technologies across various sectors to enhance government performance and service quality. He discussed the development of government services, particularly in housing and financing, to streamline procedures and improve service delivery efficiency.
Dr. Al Mutawah highlighted the significance of government data integration for providing housing services through a unified system, enabling efficient transactions and informed decision-making. He mentioned the upgraded eKey 2.0, which facilitates secure digital verification and access to housing and financing services, and pointed to digital solutions like the national portal bahrain.bh and the Baiti platform that aid in streamlining home ownership procedures.
He also noted the importance of integrating data from government entities, such as land and urban planning data, to reduce redundancy, expedite procedures, and improve service access for citizens. This integration supports a comprehensive understanding of housing needs and aids in planning and decision-making processes.
Dr. Al Mutawah underscored the role of analytics and artificial intelligence in housing planning, advocating for the use of emerging technologies to enhance user experience and government service efficiency. He stressed the need for data governance and privacy protection, balancing innovation with the responsible use of data.
The iGA's pavilion at the exhibition showcased digital services supporting the housing and real estate sectors, including the Hukoomi application and eKey 2.0, offering visitors guidance on utilizing these services effectively.
