BBK Sponsors Forum on Combating Human Trafficking in Bahrain

Manama:The Bahrain and Kuwait Bank (BBK) is the Gold Sponsor of the seventh Government Forum on Combating Trafficking in Persons in the Middle East, organized by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) in collaboration with the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons. The forum will take place from October 12-14.

According to Bahrain News Agency, this is the second time Bahrain is hosting the forum, which was initially launched in 2019 as a Bahraini initiative. It includes participation from GCC countries, various other nations, and representatives from UN organizations.

This year's theme, "Enhancing the Sustainability of Efforts through Innovation and Partnerships," underscores the commitment of Bahrain and regional countries to international and regional anti-trafficking efforts. The forum aims to strengthen the sustainability and adaptability of these efforts while fostering public-private partnerships and promoting social responsibility to combat trafficking.

The event will also include the Insan exhibition, which will showcase the role of art and partnerships in supporting awareness efforts against human trafficking.

Nebras Taleb, CEO of the LMRA and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, expressed gratitude for BBK's sponsorship, indicating it underscores the bank's role in supporting national efforts and raising awareness of trafficking risks.

Yasser Al Sharifi, CEO of BBK Group, stated that the sponsorship highlights the bank's social responsibility and its commitment to public-private partnerships in supporting Bahrain's initiatives to combat trafficking. He emphasized BBK's dedication to enhancing institutional and community awareness and promoting practices that protect the rights of all involved.
