Manama:Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, held a meeting with Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), during her visit to Bahrain. Georgieva was in the country to participate in the joint meeting of the Ministers of Finance and Governors of Central Banks from the Gulf Cooperation Council.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa emphasized that the IMF's involvement in the joint meeting is expected to contribute positively to its outcomes and support discussions on economic and financial issues that are of mutual interest to the parties involved.
Key topics of discussion included recent economic and financial developments on both regional and international levels. The meeting addressed the challenges posed by geopolitical changes and the importance of enhancing resilience to maintain economic and financial stability.
