GCC Passport Directors Discuss Cooperation in Bahrain

Manama:Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), welcomed delegations attending the 42nd meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council Directors General of Passports in Bahrain on September 29 and 30.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman highlighted the strong cooperation among GCC countries in passport and residence affairs. He praised joint efforts to streamline procedures and ease the movement of citizens, residents, and visitors, fostering GCC regional integration.

The meeting addressed topics such as the Unified GCC Visa project and the One-Stop Air Travel project. Participants discussed various issues to enhance integration and improve passport and residence services across the GCC.

Shaikh Hisham stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and knowledge exchange. He advocated for advancing joint GCC projects and leveraging modern technologies to enhance passport systems and travel frameworks, thereby improving service efficiency and facilitating travel between GCC countries.

Delegation members expressed gratitude to the NPRA Undersecretary, reaffirming their dedication to coordinated efforts and joint initiatives to achieve common GCC goals. Shaikh Hisham wished the participants success, underlining the significance of devising practical recommendations to support joint GCC initiatives and improve passport and residence systems for smoother movement within the region.
