New York:Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Ambassador to the United States, took part in a panel discussion titled "The Gulf in a Time of Conflict: Strategic Direction, Investment and Resilience." This event was organized by the Atlantic Council's Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative alongside DLA Piper, coinciding with the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion featured key figures such as Adel bin Ahmed Al Jubeir, Saudi Arabia's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy; Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the UAE; and Dr. Majed Al Ansari, Adviser to the Prime Minister and Spokesperson for Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The panel focused on the strategic and economic changes in the Gulf, examining how these developments impact the region's strategic priorities, cooperation, capital flows, and long-term investments.
Ambassador Al Khalifa emphasized the strong collaboration among GCC states amidst the ongoing crisis, highlighting the extensive cooperation observed in recent months. He underscored the significance of joint Gulf initiatives, aligning efforts to address current challenges effectively.
Moreover, he pointed out the necessity of regional cooperation, strong international partnerships, enhanced economic integration, and investment in infrastructure and supply chains. These measures, he noted, are vital for boosting the Gulf region's security, stability, and resilience, ensuring sustained development and prosperity.
