Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned and denounced the continued, heinous and deliberate attacks by the Iranian backed terrorist Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as its attempts to target the cities of Taif and Yanbu with ballistic missiles.
According to Bahrain News Agency, In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said these attacks constitute a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter, as well as a threat to regional security and stability.
The ministry reiterated Bahrain's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security and stability and protect its citizens and residents, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. It emphasised that Saudi Arabia's security and stability are an integral part of Bahrain's national security, while commending the efforts of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces in confronting and thwarting these terrorist attacks and intercepting and destroying ballistic missiles.
The ministry reiterated Bahrain's call upon the international community, particularly the Security Council, to adopt a firm stance to halt the repeated terrorist Houthi attacks targeting civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia, hold the perpetrators accountable, and implement relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216 and the provisions of Resolution 2817. These resolutions call for an end to the use of proxies, the protection of civilians, and ensuring the safety and security of maritime navigation, thereby contributing to the preservation of security, stability and peace at the regional and international levels.
