Manama: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, announced the launch of Cleanliness Week in cooperation with the Capital Municipality, municipalities, and municipal councils.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative coincides with World Cleanup Day on September 20 and will include a range of community and awareness activities aimed at promoting the importance of maintaining public cleanliness and fostering a culture of shared responsibility towards the environment and public facilities.
Minister Al Mubarak stated that the launch of Cleanliness Week reflects the ministry, Capital Municipality, municipalities, and municipal councils' efforts to promote community participation and involve different sections of society in initiatives that help keep cities, residential areas, facilities, and public spaces clean. It also aims to promote positive behaviors that support quality of life and Bahrain's appearance. He emphasized that cooperation with municipal councils reflects a commitment to community partnership and commended their efforts to raise awareness of public cleanliness.
The Municipalities Minister expressed gratitude to all community members participating in the activities, as well as everyone who contributes to keeping public spaces and shared facilities clean. He noted that such practices reflect community awareness and shared responsibility towards the environment and help preserve the Kingdom of Bahrain's appearance.
Cleanliness Week will run from September 20 to 24, featuring a range of community activities across all governorates, involving charitable and civil society organizations. The activities aim to raise awareness and highlight the importance of community partnership in maintaining public cleanliness.
