Dubai: Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, attended the opening of the Arab Media Summit 2026, which commenced in the United Arab Emirates and will run from September 15 to 17. The event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and includes the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Noaimi emphasized the critical role of Arab media conferences and events amidst the rapid transformations and technological developments in the media sector. He highlighted that the emerging challenges and opportunities necessitate ongoing constructive dialogue and the exchange of views on the future of the media industry. This dialogue is vital for the development of media practices and for keeping pace with changes in content creation and consumption.
The Information Minister stated that the Arab Media Summit serves as an essential platform for media leaders and experts to gather and discuss issues and trends shaping the current and future media landscape. He underscored the significance of enhancing Arab media coordination and exchanging expertise and ideas to support the growth of the Arab media industry, thereby enhancing its regional and international presence.
Dr. Al Noaimi is slated to participate as a keynote speaker on Thursday, September 17, in The Ministers Roundtable as part of the Government Communication Forum at the Arab Media Summit 2026. The session, which includes several Arab information ministers, will address key transformations in the Arab media landscape and the future of the media industry amid rapid technological and societal developments.
Organised by the Dubai Press Club, the three-day Arab Media Summit 2026 will explore critical issues and challenges facing the media sector, focusing on the future of news and content, the impact of digital transformation, and the role of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in shaping the media landscape. The summit boasts participation from more than 400 speakers and representation from 250 media organisations across 23 countries.
