Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia using ballistic missiles and drones against the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif in Saudi Arabia. The attacks targeted civilians and civilian objects, resulting in injuries to several civilians and causing damage to residential properties and vehicles. The Kingdom termed these attacks as violations of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as the protection of its citizens and residents in line with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. The ministry emphasized that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia are integral to Bahrain's national security and wished for the speedy recovery of those injured.
The Ministry reiterated Bahrain's call on the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities by taking a firm stance to halt the repeated Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia. It urged holding the perpetrators accountable and ensuring the implementation of relevant resolutions, including Resolution 2216 (2015) and Resolution 2817 (2026), aimed at ending support for proxy groups to contribute to regional security and stability and protect civilians and civilian objects.
