Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has issued Edict (42) of 2026, reconstituting the Strategic and Spectrum Coordination Committee. This decision follows a proposal by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and has received the necessary approval from the Cabinet.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the reconstituted committee will be chaired by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). The committee will include several key members such as the Assistant Undersecretary for Communications, Maritime Navigation Affairs, Air Navigation and Meteorological Services from the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, as well as directors from the TRA's Radio Frequency Spectrum and Technology and Network Security Departments.
The composition of the committee further extends to representatives from significant national entities, including the Bahrain Defence Force, Ministry of Interior, National Guard, National Intelligence Agency, Ministry of Information, and Bahrain Space Agency. Each of these entities will appoint a representative at a level no lower than Director of Department or equivalent to participate in the committee.
The provisions of this edict are to be implemented by the relevant authorities, taking effect from the date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
