This support encourages national efforts to position the Kingdom as a model of responsible democracy, rooted in freedom, justice, respect for the law, and the protection of human rights.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Chairman Al Saleh expressed pride in Bahrain's ongoing democratic progress, which thrives under the leadership of His Majesty. This progress paves the way for enhanced political and democratic participation and parliamentary practice based on institutional governance and the rule of law.
In recognition of the International Day of Democracy, celebrated annually on September 15, Chairman Al Saleh reaffirmed the Council's commitment to fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of strengthening Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy and supporting parliamentary partnerships that uphold democratic freedoms and rights.
The Shura Chairman also praised the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for focusing on government programs that promote democratic values. He highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination between the legislative and executive branches in sustaining Bahrain's democratic development and maintaining its reputation as a proponent of democratic freedoms and rights grounded in freedom, justice, equality, and respect for human rights.
