Manama: The Royal Endurance Team concluded its participation in the 2026 FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Horses, held over 120 kilometres in Portugal, with rider Fahad Helal Al Khatri securing fourth place overall in the competition.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the championship featured strong competition, with riders from around the world participating. The Royal Endurance Team showcased commendable performances, with Fahad Helal Al Khatri finishing fourth. His teammates, Khalifa Mubarak Sabt, Jaber Bader Jaafar, Saud Mubarak Sabt, and Shaikh Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, finished in tenth, eleventh, thirteenth, and eighteenth places, respectively.
Salem Al Kitbi from the United Arab Emirates claimed first place, while his compatriot Mansour Saeed Al Farsi secured second place, followed by Spain's Blanco Rodrigo in third.
Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hassan, Director General of the Royal Stables and Royal Endurance Team, expressed satisfaction with the team's participation in the championship, emphasizing the positive outcomes achieved. He highlighted that securing fourth place, along with several team riders finishing in leading positions, was a testament to the efforts made by the riders throughout the race.
Dr. Hassan extended congratulations to the UAE for their accomplishments, specifically congratulating Al Kitbi for his first-place finish and Al Farsi for securing second. He remarked that the achievements by GCC riders at international championships are a source of pride, reflecting the advanced level of endurance sport in the region and its growing presence on the international stage.
