Manama: Social Development Minister and Chair of the National Committee for Persons with Disabilities, Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, chaired the committee's third meeting of 2026, attended by its members representing relevant authorities.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during the meeting, the minister affirmed that empowering persons with disabilities and enhancing their active participation in society are priorities in social development efforts. He highlighted the ministry's commitment to continuing to develop the services and facilities provided to them and adopting initiatives and solutions that meet their needs through coordinated efforts among relevant authorities, thereby enhancing the efficiency and quality of the service system.
The committee also reviewed the Ministry of Social Development's efforts to develop a number of relevant regulations and organisational decisions, which contribute to enhancing the services provided to persons with disabilities and facilitating their access to them. It also discussed a number of items on the agenda.
