HM King Ratifies and Issues Decree-Law on Bahrain-UK Customs Agreement

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ratified and issued Law (40) of 2026, which approves an Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This Agreement focuses on cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in customs matters. The ratification follows a proposal by the Prime Minister and subsequent approval from the Cabinet, as well as the Shura and Representatives Councils.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Agreement was officially signed in Brussels on June 26, 2026. It aims to enhance bilateral cooperation in customs matters between the two nations, facilitating smoother trade and customs operations. The Prime Minister and relevant Ministers are tasked with implementing the provisions of this Decree-Law, which will come into effect following its publication in the Official Gazette.
