HM King and HRH Princess Sabeeka Celebrate SCW’s Silver Jubilee and 25th Anniversary

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a cable of congratulations from Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).

According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH Princess Sabeeka extended her congratulations to His Majesty the King on the SCW's Silver Jubilee and its 25th anniversary. The occasion is highlighted as a cherished national milestone, celebrated under the theme "25 Years at the Heart of the Reform Project". It coincides with His Majesty the King's declaration of 2026 as the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer", honoring the founder of the modern state, His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies. This celebration underscores Bahrain's deep historical roots and its continuous national approach to institution-building and development under His Majesty's leadership.

HRH Princess Sabeeka emphasized the SCW's achievements since its inception by His Majesty the King, mentioning its role in empowering Bahraini women and promoting their participation as equal partners in national development. She highlighted that the SCW has become a leading institution nationally, regionally, and internationally, in developing policies, proposing legislation, and launching initiatives for the empowerment of women and Bahraini families, all guided by His Majesty's vision.

HRH Princess Sabeeka expressed pride in the achievements of Bahraini women, who have reached prominent positions across various sectors, becoming an example of competence nationally and internationally. She commended the government, led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for implementing policies that promote equal opportunities and balanced partnerships between women and men.

As the SCW marks its 25th anniversary, HRH Princess Sabeeka recalled the national achievements that have become integral to Bahrain's development. She affirmed to His Majesty the King that the Council would continue its mission by developing initiatives, strengthening partnerships, and aligning with national priorities. This effort aims to translate His Majesty's vision into action by reinforcing the role of Bahraini women as active partners in the nation's progress.

HRH Princess Sabeeka reiterated that the SCW would remain a leading institution, building on its achievements to advance women's empowerment, protect families, and promote justice and equal opportunity. This dedication supports sustainable development and strengthens Bahrain's standing as a modern and civilized nation.

His Majesty the King responded by thanking HRH Princess Sabeeka for her congratulations and expressed pride in the SCW's achievements over the past 25 years. He commended Her Royal Highness for her efforts in advancing the role of Bahraini women and highlighted her leadership as a source of admiration.
