Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, led a comprehensive tour of Youth City 2030, accompanied by a delegation of ministers and senior officials. The visit was aimed at reviewing the city's extensive array of training programmes, specialised workshops, and activities that provide young people with opportunities to gain knowledge, experience, and skills in various vital fields.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the tour included notable attendees such as Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Dinah, Minister of Oil and Environment; Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works; Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism; Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA); and Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Tamkeen Chief Executive Officer. The Minister of Youth Affairs emphasized the significance of investing in Bahraini youth as a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom's ongoing national development, highlighting the support provided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Minister Tawfiqi acknowledged the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in strengthening investment in national talent and creating more opportunities for youth skill development. She also praised the contributions of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in enhancing the youth empowerment ecosystem and promoting a culture of initiative and innovation.
Youth City 2030 is identified as a platform that embodies the national strategy for developing young people's capabilities, providing participants with opportunities to explore their interests and work on projects that align with their aspirations. The minister underscored the importance of evolving youth programmes to meet the changing needs of young people and the demands of the future.
The visit by the ministers highlighted the importance of collaboration among national entities to support young people, creating diverse opportunities that enhance their role in national development. The tour included visits to various training centres within the city, such as the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Centre, Media and Entertainment Centre, Arts and Culture Centre, Science and Technology Centre, and the Summer Sports City. The delegation also explored the World of Professions platform, a key initiative under "Skills Bahrain" by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen).
The ministers and officials praised the quality and diversity of the programmes at Youth City 2030, recognizing their role in developing young people's skills and capabilities.
