King Hamad Global Centre Highlights Role of Bahraini Youth in Promoting Peace and Coexistence

Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance, underscored the significant role played by Bahraini youth in fostering a culture of peace, tolerance, and dialogue. This initiative aligns with the comprehensive development process spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and is guided by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, on the occasion of this year's International Youth Day themed "Different Circumstances, Shared Aspirations," Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasized Bahrain's commitment to nurturing young individuals, enhancing their scientific and knowledge-based skills, and empowering them as active contributors to national security, stability, and unity. He highlighted the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in supporting youth and bolstering their role in the country's developmental journey.

The Chairman expressed that Bahraini youth have shown advanced civilised awareness, blending pride in their national and Gulf identity with responsible national belonging, social cohesion, and the promotion of respect and human coexistence while standing united behind His Majesty the King's leadership.

Furthermore, the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance is dedicated to empowering young people to propagate the message of coexistence through its educational and training programs such as the King Hamad Leadership for Coexistence Programme, and the Postgraduate Diploma in Coexistence. The Centre also supports the King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue, Coexistence, and Tolerance at Sapienza University of Italy and continues to implement quality initiatives through national and international partnerships, reflecting the "Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration" on religious freedom and the establishment of the "International Day of Peaceful Coexistence" by the United Nations.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed affirmed Bahrain's ongoing efforts to empower young individuals, develop their talents and knowledge, and enhance their active participation in promoting tolerance, coexistence, and human harmony. These efforts aim to advance progress nationally, regionally, and internationally, fulfilling the aspirations of a future characterized by security, peace, comprehensive development, and sustainable prosperity.
