Riyadh: Nabil Fahmy, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, condemned recent attacks by Houthi militias targeting the Najran region in southern Saudi Arabia and positions belonging to Yemeni Government forces in Marib and Hadhramaut governorates.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Secretary General Fahmy expressed in a statement that these attacks on Saudi territory and the continued military escalation in Yemen pose a significant threat to regional security and stability. Fahmy emphasized that such actions undermine efforts for de-escalation and hinder the possibility of reaching a political settlement.
Fahmy assured the League's unwavering support for Saudi Arabia against any threats to its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He called for an immediate halt to the Houthi attacks and the military escalation in Yemen, stressing the importance of returning to a political process that ensures the security of Saudi Arabia and the stability, unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Yemen.
Fahmy highlighted the urgency of ending the escalation and avoiding actions that could expand the conflict, advocating for a political resolution that maintains regional security.
