Manama: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, engaged in a telephone conversation to discuss bilateral relations and explore ways to enhance joint cooperation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions centered around key sectors such as economic, investment, energy, technology, and artificial intelligence. These areas are viewed as crucial for fostering development and shared prosperity between the two nations.
The leaders expressed satisfaction over the successful conclusion of negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). This agreement, completed in record time, demonstrates the commitment of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations and boost economic and trade collaboration, as reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The conversation also touched on regional and international developments of mutual interest, with a particular focus on the Middle East. Both leaders emphasized the need to intensify efforts to promote regional security, stability, and peace, aligning with the interests of the region and supporting aspirations for development and prosperity.
