Manama: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt held a telephone call with Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. The call discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as regional issues of common interest.
According to Bahrain News Agency, President El Sisi expressed his country's solidarity with Algeria in facing the fires that affected areas of its territory, offering condolences for the victims and wishing those injured a speedy recovery. The Egyptian President affirmed Egypt's readiness to provide the necessary support and emphasised the longstanding relations between the two countries, as well as the importance of building on the progress in various areas of cooperation and implementing joint understandings and agreements.
For his part, President Tebboune expressed his appreciation for Egypt's supportive stance towards his country, reviewing the efforts being made by the Algerian authorities to deal with the repercussions of the fires and safeguard the safety of citizens and their property. The Algerian President also commended the continued growth of Egyptian-Algerian relations and affirmed the existence of broad opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
