Manama: The Equal Opportunities Committee at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning held its second periodic meeting of 2026, chaired by Dunya Faisal Sarhan, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Information and Chairperson of the committee.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Sarhan underscored the importance of continuing to promote equal opportunities and support institutional excellence in line with the ministry's strategic objectives. She said this contributes to enhancing the work environment and advancing employees' professional development in accordance with the best administrative practices.
The committee reviewed its annual plan for 2026, including its objectives and key priorities, and discussed several programmes and initiatives aimed at promoting equal opportunities in line with the priorities of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women 2025-2026.
The meeting also reviewed proposals to organise awareness and training programmes, specialised workshops, and awareness materials to promote the principles of equal opportunities, enhance employees' abilities, and strengthen their participation in institutional development.
The committee concluded by stressing the importance of coordination among the ministry's departments and strengthening cooperation with relevant entities to support the implementation of initiatives included in the annual plan and achieve the committee's objectives.
