Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, met with Counsellor Hisham Badawi, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the sidelines of the 8th Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments in Cairo. The meeting focused on enhancing parliamentary ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Egypt.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chairman emphasized the importance of parliamentary coordination between Bahrain and Egypt, highlighting the strong relations fostered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. He pointed out that ongoing cooperation and coordination between the two legislative bodies are vital for strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, sharing expertise, and serving the mutual interests of both nations.
The Chairman also stressed the significance of maintaining coordination and consultation in regional and international parliamentary forums. This collaboration aims to support joint Arab initiatives, promote unified stances on Arab issues, and contribute to regional security, stability, and development.
In response, Counsellor Hisham Badawi expressed Egypt's solidarity with Bahrain and condemned the Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom. He acknowledged the robust Bahrain-Egypt relations and reiterated the importance of continuous parliamentary cooperation and coordination between their respective councils.
