Health Minister Inaugurates Love Your Skin 2 Awareness Event at Marassi Galleria

Manama: Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, inaugurated the "Love Your Skin 2" awareness event at Marassi Galleria. The event is organised by the Dermatology Department at Government Hospitals in cooperation with Education Plus and runs from June 11 to 13.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was attended by Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, Dr. Lulwa Rashid Showaiter, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, and a number of officials from the health sector. The event aims to raise public awareness of skin health, highlight common dermatological conditions and methods of prevention and treatment, and showcase the specialised services provided by the dermatology departments at Government Hospitals.

Dr. Jaleela Hassan stated that the organisation of such awareness initiatives reflects ongoing efforts to promote community health and enhance public health awareness. She noted that skin health is an important component of overall health and stressed the importance of prevention, early detection, and specialised medical consultation in reducing complications associated with many skin conditions. The minister commended Government Hospitals for organising community initiatives aimed at expanding health awareness and providing reliable medical information to the public.

Dr. Mariam Al Jalahma emphasized that the event forms part of Government Hospitals' efforts to strengthen health awareness and encourage healthy practices across the community, noting the importance of skin health as part of overall wellbeing.

Dr. Aysha Juma Al Moosa, Head of the Dermatology Department at Government Hospitals, mentioned that the event offers visitors direct consultations with dermatology specialists on skin, hair, and nail conditions, in addition to awareness sessions on common dermatological diseases, including psoriasis, eczema, acne, allergies, urticaria, hair loss, alopecia, vitiligo, and pigmentation disorders.
