Capital Governor Chairs Security Committee Meeting Ahead of Ashoora Commemoration

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Humood bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Capital Governor, chaired a meeting of the Capital Governorate Security Committee to review security, organisational, and service preparations for the Ashoora commemoration. The meeting was attended by representatives from the relevant security directorates at the Ministry of Interior and other concerned entities.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Capital Governor emphasized the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the Ashoora commemoration, highlighting Bahrain's commitment to religious freedoms, coexistence, and tolerance. He also praised the government, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for ensuring a safe and well-organized commemoration.

Shaikh Khalid bin Humood acknowledged the efforts of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, for his direct oversight and commitment to annual meetings with heads and officials of Maatams (community centres). He stressed the importance of preserving religious and cultural practices free from political exploitation and emphasized the need for continued coordination among all entities to enhance services and organisational arrangements.

The committee reviewed field plans and service measures designed to provide a suitable environment for the commemoration, ensure the safety of participants, and facilitate traffic movement in high-activity areas. Furthermore, the Capital Governor and committee members conducted an inspection tour in Manama to evaluate Hussaini procession routes and assess security, organisational, and service preparedness, ensuring the implementation of recommendations to maintain high standards of safety and organisation.
