Manama: The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) held a virtual awareness lecture with the participation of representatives from government and private entities, including individuals interested in environmental affairs, on the occasion of World Environment Day. The lecture was held as part of the council's ongoing efforts to promote environmental and climate awareness and enhance understanding of environmental challenges and issues.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ali Mohammed Al Saei, Environmental Specialist at the SCE, delivered the lecture, reviewing key concepts related to climate change, its causes, and its impact on environmental and development sectors. He also highlighted sources of greenhouse gas emissions and national efforts to reduce them through the implementation of initiatives and projects that support climate action, enhance resource efficiency and promote sustainable development.
Around 50 specialists, interested participants, and representatives of various entities took part in the lecture. Discussions addressed topics related to climate change, the importance of promoting environmental awareness, and supporting national efforts aimed at addressing climate challenges and achieving sustainability.
The lecture forms part of the SCE's activities marking World Environment Day and reflects its commitment to continuing awareness and educational programmes that promote environmental knowledge and a culture of sustainability, supporting Bahrain's efforts to protect the environment and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
