Bahrain Grand Holy Quran Award Ceremony Celebrates 30th Edition

Manama: Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), the 30th Bahrain Grand Holy Quran Award ceremony was held at the Isa Cultural Centre. The event was organized by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and was attended by Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa, Vice President of the SCW.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa highlighted that the patronage of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim reflects her ongoing support for women who memorise the Holy Quran and efforts to enhance religious, educational, and cultural awareness grounded in Islamic values and teachings. She acknowledged the increasing participation in the competition and its role over the past thirty years in encouraging the memorisation of the Quran and the study of Quranic sciences.

Dr. Shaikha Mariam distributed certificates and awards to winners and honoured partner entities supporting the competition. Among those recognised were the Ministry of Interior for the 'Ghufran' competition for female inmates, the Ministry of Education for the 'Bayan' competition for school students, and the Ministry of Social Development for the 'Ajran' competition for people of determination. Members of the judging committee also received honours.

The ceremony celebrated winners in various categories of Quran memorisation, recitation, and specialised competitions. Recognition was also given to the oldest and youngest participants, recipients of the 'Mizmar Dawood' award, the best Quran memorisation centre, and the best local Quran competition.

The event featured Quran recitation, a presentation by participating centres, and a documentary on the award, concluding with the recognition of winners and supporting entities, followed by a group photograph.
