Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a telephone call from Toshimitsu Motegi, Japan's Minister for Foreign Affairs. During the call, the two sides reviewed the course of the close friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries, and explored ways to further advance joint cooperation across various fields in support of mutual interests.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion also included an exchange of views on regional developments, particularly focusing on the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain, GCC member states, and other countries in the region. The ministers addressed the implications of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation, highlighting concerns over its effects on the global economy, energy and food supplies, and international trade.
