GCC Secretary General Condemns Iranian Attack on Ras Laffan

Manama: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, strongly condemned the Iranian targeting of Ras Laffan Industrial City in the State of Qatar, describing it as a blatant violation of all international laws and norms. Albudaiwi emphasized the gravity of the situation, highlighting the potential impact on regional security and international energy markets.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi stated that the escalation reflects a hostile approach threatening the region's security and stability. He stressed that such actions undermine regional peace and are condemned by all standards for targeting oil facilities and infrastructure. The GCC sees this as an attempt to destabilize the security of its member states and the stability of global energy markets.

The GCC Secretary General urged the international community to take responsibility and act promptly to prevent further attacks. He called for an immediate cessation of actions that threaten regional and international peace and security.

Albudaiwi also expressed the GCC's full solidarity with Qatar, assuring support for any measures taken by Qatar to protect its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its vital facilities.
