Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates has confirmed that the UAE air defence systems successfully detected seven ballistic missiles, intercepting and destroying six of them. One missile, however, fell within the country's territory.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministry reported that air defences identified 131 drones, intercepting 125 while six drones fell inside the UAE. Since the onset of Iranian aggression, a total of 196 ballistic missiles have been detected, with 181 intercepted, 13 falling into the sea, and two landing in the UAE. Additionally, 1,072 Iranian drones have been detected, with 1,001 intercepted and 71 falling within the UAE. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and neutralized.
The attacks have led to three fatalities involving individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Furthermore, there have been 94 minor injuries among people of various nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, and Turkish.
The Ministry of Defence has reiterated its full readiness to address any threats, emphasizing its commitment to taking necessary actions to protect the nation's security and ensure its sovereignty, stability, and national interests.
