Manama: Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), was honored with the 2025 Sustainability Shield. She received the accolade from Professor Youssef Abdulghaffar Al Abbasi, Chairman of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility. This recognition comes following her inclusion among the Top 100 Sustainability Champions in the Middle East and North Africa for 2025 (third edition).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the selection highlights Al Awadhi's significant contributions towards advancing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Her efforts have been pivotal in promoting sustainability at both institutional and community levels. She has been instrumental in strengthening the connection between sustainability, women's empowerment, and comprehensive development, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Kingdom's national vision.
The announcement was made during a virtual ceremony that marked the launch of the Top 100 Sustainability Champions in MENA for 2025 and the accompanying publication. The event also featured the unveiling of the Global Sustainability Index, with participation from regional leaders and sustainability experts.
