Deputy Prime Minister Attends Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award Ceremony

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, attended the 12th Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Award ceremony, in the presence of ministers, senior officials, and invited guests. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah honoured the judging panel and recognised a group of winners for their contributions to visual arts and scientific and economic research from within the Kingdom of Bahrain and abroad.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that high-quality community initiatives that encourage scientific research and intellectual excellence reflect a clear vision that places creativity and excellence at the heart of development and modernisation across sectors. He noted that this aligns with the objectives of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He highlighted the key role of private sector institutions, particularly long-established business families, as strategic partners to the government in driving development, commending their responsible approach to community partnership in supporting creativity, nurturing talent, and enriching the local and Arab knowledge landscape.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah noted the longstanding history of the Kanoo family and its leading commercial, charitable, and cultural contributions, underscoring that the Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Award reflects a firm belief in investing in science and knowledge as a foundation for sustainable development and in recognising scholars and thinkers.

The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the award winners, describing the honour as a result of their academic and artistic efforts, and encouraged them to continue contributing to progress and development.

On his part, Fawzi Ahmed Kanoo, Chairman of Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, expressed appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister for attending the ceremony and honouring the winners, emphasising that the continuation of the award reflects the family's commitment to science, knowledge, and the arts as tools for human development and societal advancement.
