Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, welcomed a delegation from the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. The delegation was led by Song Ki-hoon, Chairman of the Bahraini-Korean Parliamentary Friendship Association, and Eun Ha Hwang, Chairman of the Saudi-Korean Parliamentary Friendship Association. Attendees included Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council; Khalid Hussain Al Maskati, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee; Dr. Mohammed Ali Hassan Ali, Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee; Hala Ramzi Fayez, member of the Services Committee; and MP Mohammed Yousef Al Maarafi.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the chairman emphasized that the visit aims to deepen Bahraini-Korean ties, fostering cooperation, partnership, and the exchange of parliamentary expertise. He noted that the friendship and collaboration between Bahrain and Korea enhance parliamentary, economic, cultural, and investment partnerships. These efforts support development and growth in both nations.
Al Saleh remarked on the nearly 50-year relationship between the countries, highlighting a shared commitment to joint action and expanded cooperation in development areas such as health, education, culture, digital transformation, and industry. He also praised Korea's economic and industrial achievements.
The Korean delegation expressed pride in visiting Bahrain, aiming to strengthen parliamentary relations and discuss enhancing ties with the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives. They acknowledged Bahrain's development and efforts toward the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, expressing a desire to expand cooperation, especially in health, education, industrial, and construction sectors.
The delegation extended an invitation for Al Saleh to visit Korea for bilateral and parliamentary meetings to explore further cooperation and mutual interests.
