Manama: Shaikh Salman bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Higher Urban Planning Committee, welcomed the Royal Order designating this year the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer" in honour of Bahrain's founder of the modern state and key figure in its institutional development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Salman bin Abdullah highlighted that the royal order reflects His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's vision to strengthen national identity by connecting Bahrain's historic roots with its ongoing progress. He noted that Bahrain's urban planning, particularly in Muharraq, embraces this vision by preserving the country's architectural heritage while supporting modern development.
Shaikh Salman bin Abdullah concluded that the year pays tribute to a leader whose legacy shaped Bahrain's foundations and offers an opportunity to affirm the Kingdom's national values and identity.
