Speaker Engages in Strategic Meeting with GCC Executive Bureau Director General

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, received Mohamed bin Hassan Al Obaidly, Director General of the Executive Bureau for the GCC Ministers of Labour and Social Affairs. The Speaker emphasized the commitment of Gulf legislative councils to bolstering social and developmental sectors, underscoring the necessity of exchanging expertise and successful experiences to enhance Gulf cooperation and integration, in accordance with the visions of the leaders of the GCC states.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Speaker praised the significant role of the Executive Bureau in coordinating efforts, formulating joint policies, conducting research and studies, managing projects and strategic partnerships, and representing the GCC states in various Arab and international forums in the fields of labour and social development.

The meeting also explored avenues to fortify cooperation, develop the legislative framework of the GCC in social and labour sectors, and enhance the quality of social services to benefit Gulf communities.

For his part, Al Obaidly lauded the role of Gulf legislative councils in fostering cooperation. He reaffirmed the Executive Bureau's commitment to achieving integration and constructive coordination, as well as implementing plans, programmes, projects, and specialised initiatives in labour and social development. He also highlighted the Kingdom's efforts in promoting cooperation to higher levels, in alignment with GCC sustainable developmental goals.
