NCST and Bahrain Aquatics Federation Forge Partnership to Boost Student Athletes

Khalifa city: The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology (NCST) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bahrain Aquatics Federation. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in supporting student athletes, allowing them to achieve a balance between academic excellence and athletic distinction in swimming and aquatic sports.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU was signed by Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, CEO of NCST, and Abdullah Atiya, President of the Bahrain Aquatics Federation, at the Center's headquarters in Khalifa City. This partnership is part of NCST's ongoing efforts to establish a national model for professional school sports. Initially launched with a professional educational and training program for football in cooperation with international clubs, the initiative has now expanded to include aquatic sports. The expansion will involve the creation of school teams, which will receive technical and training support from the Bahrain Aquatics Federation.

The memorandum outlines plans to provide joint training programs and sporting events, utilizing the Centre's aquatic facilities to support shared educational and training activities. This collaboration is expected to elevate the standard of aquatic sports in the Kingdom and enhance the capabilities of student athletes aged 15 to 18.

Under the agreement, the two parties will organize joint sporting events and competitions and implement media initiatives to highlight swimmers' achievements. The initiatives aim to promote a culture of sports among students and support the development of a new generation of promising aquatic sports champions.
