Manama: The Bahrain Institute for Political Development marked its twentieth anniversary in a ceremony attended by Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), and Nabeel bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, His Majesty the King's Media Advisor.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Rumaihi affirmed the Institute's commitment to building on two decades of work inspired by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by the government led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He highlighted the Institute's cooperation with the Shura and Representatives Councils and its partnerships with national institutions, underscoring their role in advancing the objectives for which the Institute was created.
He noted that the Institute has become a key contributor to Bahrain's political development, enhancing public understanding of constitutional principles and supporting political and legislative bodies through specialised training and awareness programmes. He added that the next phase will focus on expanding programmes and partnerships and preparing capable Bahraini talent to support the country's evolving political landscape.
Al Hamer said the anniversary represents an important milestone in strengthening constitutional awareness and fostering a responsible political culture. He noted that, since its establishment under the vision of His Majesty the King, the Institute has played a central role in promoting political development and supporting legislative and municipal institutions.
Established under Royal Decree (39) of 2005, the Institute works to promote political awareness, provide constitutional and legal training, and support research on political systems and constitutional rights, as well as advance parliamentary and municipal processes.
