Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on McLaren’s global achievement. The team, owned by Mumtalakat Holding Company, secured the 2025 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit. Lando Norris, a McLaren driver, concluded the season as the top driver in the championship, with his teammate Oscar Piastri coming in second.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted this achievement as a testament to the vision and unwavering support of His Majesty the King, HRH the Crown Prince, and the Prime Minister in promoting the sports sector and fostering global sports investments. This success has positioned the Kingdom as a significant partner in the international motorsports arena. The victory adds to McLaren’s accolades, following their consecutive win of the Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship, and marks the first occasion in 27 years that the team has clinched both titles.
