IPU Highlights Shura Council Secretariat’s Digital and AI Projects

Manama: The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is showcasing several digital and artificial intelligence (AI) projects developed by the Shura Council's General Secretariat as part of a selection of parliamentary technology initiatives highlighted at the international conference on 'The Role of Parliament in Shaping the Future of Responsible Artificial Intelligence,' hosted by the Malaysian Parliament in partnership with the IPU, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the UN Development Programme (UNDP).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the IPU platform features a video highlighting the Council's integrated digital systems, including 'Shura 360,' an advanced platform offering 19 new features that enhance usability, operational efficiency, and access to Secretariat services. It also presents the 'Intelligent Hansard' system, which introduces AI-powered automatic speech-to-text transcription in Arabic, providing improved accuracy, faster editing workflows, and enhanced reporting tools.

Another video showcases 'Sanad,' the Council's AI virtual assistant designed to support research, information retrieval, and access to legislation, decisions, and documents, enabling faster and more accurate responses for users.

The presentation of these projects underscores the Shura Council's progress in adopting AI-driven solutions and its efforts to enhance parliamentary performance through modern digital tools.
