Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on events that happened over the past 24 hours. HM King received GCC leaders and representatives following the conclusion of the 46th GCC Summit, which he also chaired. The summit featured the participation of the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic as the Guest of Honour.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HM King presided over both the opening and closing sessions of the summit. He also chaired a second working session, which included discussions with the Italian Prime Minister. In addition, a lunch banquet was hosted by HM King to honour the GCC leaders and the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic.
The summit concluded successfully, with HM King receiving congratulations from HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. HM King also received a cable of thanks from HM Sultan of Oman, who was received by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister upon his arrival in Bahrain for the summit. Similarly, HH the Amir of the State of Kuwait and the Prime Minister of Qatar arrived in Bahrain to participate in the proceedings, as did the UAE Vice President.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister engaged with several dignitaries, including HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. The two leaders co-chaired the fourth meeting of the Bahraini-Saudi Coordination Council. Additionally, HRH met with the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic.
The summit concluded with a final statement issued by the GCC Supreme Council. Following the summit, a press conference was held by the Foreign Minister and GCC Secretary General. Meanwhile, the PMO announced the conclusion of Fikra's application period, and the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance organized a visit for the Italian Prime Minister to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia.
