Washington: Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Ambassador of Bahrain to the United States, actively participated in a dialogue session organized by the Bahraini Embassy in collaboration with the Aspen Strategy Group. The session, led by Niamh King, the Director of the Institute, examined a range of regional and international topics, such as the outcomes of the Manama Dialogue and the Gateway Gulf Forum, along with updates on the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) involving Bahrain, the US, and the UK.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Abdullah emphasized that Bahrain's long-standing role as host of the Manama Dialogue underscores the nation's dedication to engaging in constructive dialogue and addressing regional and global challenges. This commitment aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Ambassador highlighted the significant American participation in this year's session.
Regarding the Gateway Gulf Forum, the Ambassador described it as an investment platform aimed at global investors seeking direct opportunities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets. He mentioned that this year's forum announced over 60 investments and strategic agreements surpassing US$17 billion. Shaikh Abdullah also pointed to Bahrain's openness, economic flexibility, and diverse economic base as key factors making the Kingdom an ideal gateway to the Gulf markets, which are valued at US$2.3 trillion.
The Ambassador further elaborated on the progress of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), noting its significance as the first treaty-level agreement between the US and an Arab nation. He explained that the agreement is founded on three interconnected pillars: security cooperation, economic security, and technological resilience. These elements collectively form a foundation for stability and prosperity, with the Ambassador stressing the importance of multilateral action as a core component of a shared approach.
