Manama: Dr. Mariam Adhbi Al Jalahma, CEO of Government Hospitals, inaugurated the new Molecular Laboratory at the Laboratory Department of Salmaniya Medical Complex. The opening of this facility marks a significant development in the enhancement of laboratory and diagnostic services within government hospitals, aligning with the directives of the Supreme Council of Health and strategic goals for precision medicine and advanced diagnostic technologies.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Jalahma stated that the Molecular Laboratory is a substantial addition to the diagnostic capabilities at Salmaniya Medical Complex. It offers advanced facilities for analysing genetic and molecular samples, which will aid in early disease detection and improve diagnostic and treatment accuracy. This advancement is seen as a crucial step in modernising the healthcare system in government hospitals by incorporating cutting-edge laboratory technologies, thereby enhancing the quality and accuracy of tests and expediting diagnosis and treatment processes for patients.
Dr. Al Jalahma also expressed her appreciation for the medical and technical teams that contributed to the project, commending the efforts of the qualified national staff operating the laboratory in compliance with internationally recognised standards of quality and safety. She further emphasized that this initiative is part of the broader strategic plan of government hospitals to foster integration between diagnostic and therapeutic services. This is in line with the objectives of the National Health Plan (2016-2025), which focuses on improving the quality and sustainability of healthcare services for both citizens and residents of the Kingdom.
