Interior Minister Highlights Security Initiatives at IISS Manama Dialogue

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, met with Brigadier General Ahmad Al Hajjar, Minister of Interior and Municipalities of the Republic of Lebanon, during the 21st edition of the IISS Manama Dialogue 2025. The meeting underscored Bahrain's commitment to fostering international stability and security under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the visit of the Lebanese minister to the Kingdom of Bahrain is part of the international forum, which reflects Bahrain's active role in addressing global challenges. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah emphasized the strategic importance of the issues discussed at the IISS Manama Dialogue, noting that such platforms enhance cooperation and coordination among nations.

During the meeting, General Shaikh Rashid reviewed community security initiatives in Bahrain, such as the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism (Bahrainouna). This initiative aims to strengthen national identity and unity through community-based mechanisms.

The minister also highlighted the Alternative Sentencing and Open Prisons Programmes, which have advanced criminal justice in Bahrain. These initiatives, inspired by the Royal Vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, mark significant progress in the Kingdom's human rights efforts and align with His Majesty's comprehensive development principles.

Discussions between the ministers included enhancing cooperation and addressing regional and international security developments. General Shaikh Rashid reiterated the strong relations between Bahrain and Lebanon and the mutual commitment to reinforcing regional stability and safeguarding national achievements.
