China Surpasses 100 Medals, Nears Top Spot at Asian Youth Games

Manama: China maintained its strong lead at the 3rd Asian Youth Games after surpassing 100 medals, reaching a total of 101, including 48 gold, 35 silver, and 18 bronze, driven by success in athletics, swimming, and weightlifting.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Uzbekistan remained second with 41 medals, including 19 gold, followed by Thailand with 34 medals (13 gold). Kazakhstan held the fourth position with 50 medals, securing 12 gold, while Iran stood fifth with 44 medals, also with 12 gold.

The United Arab Emirates continued its impressive performance, ranking sixth overall and first among Arab countries with 19 medals, including 8 gold, led by victories in camel racing and swimming. Saudi Arabia ranked second among Arab nations with 15 medals, while Iraq came third with 11, reflecting strong Arab participation in the Games.
