Higher Education Council Sec Gen Meets GCC Delegation to Discuss Academic Collaboration

Manama: Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahrami, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council, welcomed a delegation of officials from the ministries of higher education and scientific research in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries during their official visit to the Kingdom. The visit's primary aim is to explore the efforts of Bahraini higher education institutions in enhancing performance, achieving academic recognition, and fostering partnerships.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Jahrami emphasized Bahrain's dedication to bolstering cooperation and expanding partnerships with fellow GCC countries in higher education. She praised the GCC General Secretariat for its role in supporting the coordination of efforts and aligning visions to achieve integration in this critical sector, as well as in supporting joint projects in innovation, scientific research, and academic development.

Representatives from the Higher Education Council, the Education and Training Quality Authority, and several higher education institutions in Bahrain showcased key achievements in the sector. They detailed ongoing efforts to secure both local and international accreditations and to improve in global rankings.

The delegation visited several higher education institutions in Bahrain, including the University of Bahrain (UOB), the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain), and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF).

These visits included briefings on major educational facilities and success stories, along with discussions on expanding avenues for joint academic cooperation across the Gulf region.
