Manama: In a new achievement added to Bahrain International Airport's (BIA) record of accomplishments following its remarkable success at the 2024 Skytrax World Airport Awards, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of BIA, announced that the airport has won three awards for 2025. These include the title of 'World's Cleanest Airport' in the category of airports handling up to 25 million passengers annually, in addition to the 'Middle East's Cleanest Airport' award. The airport also received international recognition as the 'World's Best Airport Serving 5-10 Million Passengers.' These achievements reflect the airport's commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience and maintaining the highest international standards across all aspects of its operations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, BIA also earned several other distinguished rankings at the 2025 Skytrax World Airport Awards, further enhancing its global standing in the passenger experience field. The airport ranked third globally for Best Airport Immigration Services, reflecting the efficiency of its procedures and customer service focus. It also came third among the Best Airports in the Middle East, placing it among the region's leading airports. Furthermore, Bahrain International Airport achieved fourth place globally in the category of World's Best Airport for Baggage Delivery, highlighting its reliable and seamless baggage handling services. The airport also secured fifth place globally in the Most Family-Friendly Airports category, reflecting its commitment to creating an ideal environment for families.
The awards were presented during the World Airport Awards ceremony held at the Passengers Terminal Expo in Madrid, Spain, on April 9 and were accepted on behalf of BIA by Eyad Ismaeel, Vice President of Facility Management at BAC. These awards, including the titles of 'World's Cleanest Airport' among airports serving up to 25 million passengers annually, 'Middle East's Cleanest Airport' and 'World's Best Airport Serving 5-10 Million Passengers', reflect Bahrain International Airport's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and passenger satisfaction.
