Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today sent a cable of congratulations to HE the Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kiro, the Governor-General of New Zealand, marking New Zealand's Waitangi Day. His Royal Highness also sent a similar cable to HE Christopher Luxon, the Prime Minister of New Zealand.
According to Bahrain News Agency, these congratulatory messages were sent as part of the longstanding tradition of diplomatic goodwill and mutual respect between Bahrain and New Zealand. Waitangi Day is a significant event for New Zealand, commemorating the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840, which is considered the founding document of the nation. The Crown Prince's gesture highlights the importance of this occasion and reaffirms the friendly relations between the two countries.
