High Committee for Haj and Umrah Affairs holds meeting

Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Ma’awda chaired the first meeting of the High Committee for Haj and Umrah Affairs.

The panel was updated about the visit which was made by a ministry’s delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sign agreements related to the pilgrimage season and attend the Haj and Umrah conference and exhibition.

The committee members stressed fruitful cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to serve Bahrain pilgrims.

They hailed the ability of Saudi authorities to return to the pre-pandemic pilgrimage levels. They praised the Saudi initiative to reduce the cost of insurance for Umrah performers by 63% and for pilgrims by 73%.

The committee decided to allow the temporary merging of Haj and Umrah this year’s Hajj season, while maintaining the level of services.

It also discussed plans to enhance services provided to Bahraini pilgrims, including those related to pilgrims’ camps and holy sites facilities.

Education Ministry’s plans highlighted

Education Minister, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Jumaa, received Member of the Representatives Council, MP Mohammed Moosa Al-Balooshi.

Dr. Mohammed reviewed the ministry’s plans to enhance reading and writing skills, in addition to focusing on consolidating Arab and Islamic customs, traditions and values in the school curricula.

The lawmaker expressed thanks and appreciation to the minister for his interest in the proposals submitted by MPs, commending the efforts being made by the Education Ministry’s affiliates and the educational institutions to serve the nation and its citizens.

HEC Secretary General receives entrepreneurship guide

Higher Education Council (HEC) Secretary Council, HEC Board of Trustees’ Deputy Chairman, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa received Field Training Guidance Chief Mona Majid Al Ghatam, who presented a copy of her book titled “For the Career Guidance to Entrepreneurship 2022”.

The HEC Secretary-General congratulated the writer, stressing the importance of the guide towards entrepreneurship, which helps academics and specialists to learn about and benefit from modern practices in career guidance.

College of Engineering hosts graduation ceremony

The University of Bahrain (UoB) College of Engineering hosted a graduation ceremony for a batch of 2976 graduates who completed their studies.

This was part of the 24th UoB Graduation Ceremony, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The batch 57 postgraduates, 810 Architecture and Interior Design graduates, 360 Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduates, 505 Chemical Engineering graduates, 720 Civil Engineering graduates, and 524 Mechanical Engineering graduates.

Addressing the ceremony, College of Engineering Dean Dr. Shaikha Haifa bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa urged graduates to pursue their postgraduate studies.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, University of Bahrain President Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al Mudhahki and other UoB Deputy Presidents and board of trustees members. The university holds 20 ceremonies for its graduates during the period running from January 19 to 29, on the basis of two events daily.

The College of Engineering which was established in 1968 AD was first called Gulf Technical College. It was renamed as Gulf College of Technology, and then College of Engineering after the establishment of the University of Bahrain in the year 1986 .

HM King congratulates Chinese President on Chinese New Year

HM King’s Diplomatic Advisor receives Ambassador to Kuwait

Advisor to His Majesty the King for Diplomatic Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received the Ambassador of Bahrain to Kuwait Salah Ali Al Maliki.

The advisor praised the ambassador’s efforts to carry out his duties and his endeavors in developing ties with Kuwait and wished him continued success.
