Gulf People not working in their Countries rise to 17.2%

Manama, September 29th (BNA) –Assistant Secretary General of Human and Environment Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat, Dr. Abdullah Bin Oqla Al Hashim stressed that the 13th meeting of the Human retirement and Social insurances at the GCC countries held this morning at the Conferences Hall in the Gulf Hotel in Manama was a completion of the past efforts stared during the past years.

He also said that such meetings included several decisions of concern and follow from the General Secretariat and all the member states.

Dr. Abdulla highlighted in his speech that issues on the meeting’s agenda require reviewing and negotiation and also need suitable decisions.

For his part, the CEO of the Public Authority for Social Insurance, Dr. Zakariya Sultan Al Abbasi asserted in his speech that the system of extending the insurance protection has started to gain its outcomes due to the wise vision of Their Majesties, and Highnesses leaders of the GCC states.

Dr. Zakariya pointed out that such system accomplished many positives due to spreading the spirit of social stability for the workers of the GCC states in other countries, which reflected the ease of the movement of the Gulf labour in the GCC states. He said that the total number of those registered in the system till mid of last June reached 13450 Gulf citizens with an increase of 17.2% than last year.

Dr. Zakariya also praised the initiative of awarding the figures who participated in developing the social systems of retirement and insurance.
