Manama: A ceremony marking the 7th edition of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa Voluntary Work Award will held tomorrow – Thursday – at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
The Good Word Society will organize the event in cooperation with the Arab Voluntary Work Union and the Arab League NGOs directorate.
Fifteen Arab personalities will be honoured during the ceremony, as part of festivities marking the Arab Voluntary Work Day. The laureates were selected based on their voluntary work contributions on the local, national, Arab and regional levels.
The award also acknowledges their role of transferring their expertise, attracting and training volunteers and advocating community issues for years.
It is also in recognition of their scientific contributions, trailblazing ideas, innovative and creative voluntary work projects in addition to their positive roles within their community.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, award patron and Good Word Society Honorary Chairman and Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit, will honour the 2017 recipients.
The ceremony will be attended by leading personalities, Arab and regional civil society institutions, social responsibility experts, voluntary work advocates and media figures.
A delegation representing the award organizing committee coordinated details of the ceremony with Bahrain embassy in Cairo, Egypt.
