Manama, Sept. 29. (BNA) — Bahrain’s up-and-coming young karters will look to top the timesheets when the second round of the 2013/2014 Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC) takes place at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) on Saturday. The second round follows on from the season-opener that took place at BIC’s Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC), Sakhir, earlier this month.
The BRMMC has remained a fun addition to BIC’s calendar of events at BIC, since the challenge debuted at the Sakhir circuit three years ago. The popular event is an ideal day out for the entire family, as they take in the karting action and other activities that feature on the sidelines. Entry to spectators is free and all are welcome to attend.
This year’s challenge is being organised in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, Bahrain Karting Club and BIC. The nine- round championship will see action spread out over an eight-month timeframe culminating with the final next May.
The opening round at “the Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,” saw His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla triumph in both races of the BRMMC’s Max/Max Masters class, claiming race one ahead of Abdulrahman Waleed, while Adeeb Kuzbar finished in third. Race two saw Abdulla Al Thawadi claim second place while Kuzbar was third.
Hussain Hasan, meanwhile, celebrated victory in the BRMMC Jr Max division, after he finished ahead of Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa and third place Abdulla Beshara. At the division’s second race, Shaikh Isa took top honours, ahead of Hasan, with Beshara again placing third.
The SSWS RX250 class saw competition from a full grid of 17 karts, but victory ultimately went to Ali Abdulla, who edged out second place Raed Rafie and third place Mohammed Faqihi at the night’s only race.
Qualifying in the SSWS will take place at 5.15pm on Saturday with the first race set at 6.05pm and the second race at 7.20pm. Qualifying in the BRMMC class will take place at 5.35pm, while the first race will take place at 6.30pm, followed by the second race at 7.45pm.
